Code Of Ethics

                                                  

An Educator and Child Care Provider must:

Advocate for and ensure that all children, including those with special needs, have access to the support services needed to be successful.

Build relationships with individual children and families while individualizing the curricula and learning environments to facilitate young children’s development and learning.

Listen to families, acknowledge and build upon their strengths and competencies, and learn from families as we support them in their task of nurturing children.

Promote safe and healthy working conditions and policies that foster mutual respect, cooperation,collaboration, competence, well-being, confidentiality,
and self-esteem in staff members.

Provide the community with high-quality early childhood care and education programs and services.

My focus throughout my professional career is to provide, “Excellence in Quality Care Service”. These codes provide a road map to my goal of excelling in providing quality care service and providing nurturing  support to my children. It is my belief that through effective communication,  positive relationships with my  families and staff that we can all achieve a common goal of providing nurturing support to our children.

    Your statementabout having a common goal rings out; having teachers, parents and support staff committed to excellence. Like you said, communication is key. Sometimes, I think there are programs that need to fill positions and thus may settle for less than fully committed staff. How do we motivate all involved to seek excellence, especially when the pay is low and the work is hard?

  2. I agree with Tammra communication is always key no matter what we do. Involving everyone in the community helps build solid foundation in learn for the kids and which makes learning fun for the kids. Thats reminds me of the every first video about that little girl.

  3. I like your post especially the one with building relationship with children and families. I believe that every child is different and as early childhood professionals, we need to recognize and respect their differences and provide better learning environment to support their maximum potential.

  4. I really like your post in regards to listening to families and building upon their strengths. I think that as a early childhood educator listening to families is really important especially when teaching their child the necessities. Educators need to respect the families teaching strategy and provide the child the best learning opportunity possbile.

    I have enjoyed getting to know you throughout this course. I found when I went back, that you were one to give me positive feedback consistently. I really appreciate it so much. Receive constructive feedback on our work is such an important part of our personal growth. Sometimes it just good to know you are on the right track. You did that for me on more than one occasion. You were always specific with your comments and always respectful. It was wonderful getting to know you!
